FSSAI State License – Basic Information

FSSAI State License is required for medium-sized Food Business Operators (FBOs) having annual turnover between ₹12 Lakhs and ₹20 Crores. It is issued by the respective State Food Safety Department under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

Food businesses with annual turnover between ₹12 lakhs and ₹20 crores, including manufacturers, transporters, storage units, distributors, restaurants, and medium-scale processors require a State License.

The State License can be obtained for a period of 1 to 5 years and must be renewed before expiry.

Required documents include PAN Card, Address Proof of Business, Partnership Deed / Incorporation Certificate (if applicable), Food Safety Management Plan, and Authority Letter.
