FSSAI Central License – Basic Information

FSSAI Central License is mandatory for large Food Business Operators (FBOs) having annual turnover above ₹20 Crores or engaged in import/export of food products. It is issued by the Central Licensing Authority under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

FSSAI Central License – FAQs

Large food businesses with annual turnover above ₹20 crores, importers, exporters, 100% export-oriented units, and companies operating in multiple states require a Central License.

The Central License can be issued for a period of 1 to 5 years, depending on the applicant’s choice, and must be renewed before expiry.

Required documents include PAN Card, Business Registration Certificate, Layout Plan, List of Directors/Partners, Import Export Code (if applicable), Food Safety Management Plan (FSMS), and Address Proof.
